Did Jen and Zac Affleck survive MomTok?
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star met her husband in 2018 and the couple married on June 28, 2019. Jen and Zac have since welcomed two children, Nora and Lucas Lowell. In February 2025, the couple revealed exclusively to PEOPLE that they are expecting their third child.
"We were very excited, there were a lot of emotions after a very crazy year!" Jen said of finding out she was pregnant.
While season 1 of the reality show centered around Mormon MomTok influencers was airing, Jen admitted to Vulture that she went into filming “in a rocky place” in her marriage and had “done therapy nonstop” since they wrapped. While it was difficult to tackle their marital issues on-screen, Jen said she believes joining The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives was “probably the best thing to happen to us.”
“It’s scary to have your relationship exposed to the world,” she said. “I wanted to move forward with filming, because that’s what felt right to me, my career and wanting to provide for my family.”
Aside from their on-screen quarrels, the couple came under scrutiny for claiming to have ties to Ben and Casey Affleck via Zac’s side of the family. After season 1 debuted, a source denied their claims and alleged to PEOPLE that “there’s no relationship” between the famous brothers and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars.
While announcing her pregnancy, Jen also confirmed her future with the Hulu series, which was renewed for a second season in October 2024. Although she didn't appear in a video by costar Mayci Neeley teasing the next season that month, in her February 2025 pregnancy announcement, Jen announced that she would be starring in season 2.
"Filming can be incredibly mentally draining, and adding pregnancy along with all the challenges I faced this last season was a big challenge," she said. "After dealing with the backlash from season 1 and stepping into season 2 with a lot of baggage, this pregnancy has been the toughest."

Jen and Zac welcomed their first child, daughter Nora, in November 2021. Over one year later, they became a family of four with the July 2023 arrival of their son, Lucas Lowell, whom Jen often refers to as "Luca." To commemorate Father’s Day 2024, the mom of two expressed her admiration for Zac as a dad.
“We were so young when we first became parents, with lots to learn, but Zac has always been there every step of the way,” Jen wrote on Instagram. “He’s never wavered in giving Nora and Luca everything they need.”
In February 2025, Jen and Zac told PEOPLE that they are expecting their third child.
"I have a strong feeling it’s a girl," the mom of two said. "I’ve dreamed about this little girl for a while now, and I truly believe she’s the one I’m carrying."

On season 1 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Jen and Zac contemplated her future with the cast amid a potential move for him to attend medical school outside of Utah. They also fought about her potentially attending a Chippendales show in Las Vegas and Zac’s gambling throughout the show, raising concerns from her castmates and fans.
Looking back on the pilot season, Jen told Vulture she’s thankful for the show “because a lot of the things they showed were things I didn’t want to acknowledge.” She also admitted that there were "changes that need to be made” in her marriage with Zac.
“If they’re not made, we might have to ... look at other options,” said Jen. “But as of right now, I do think he’s trying his best to make those changes.”
While they’ve been married for over five years, Jen has admitted that they “truly had no idea what we were getting ourselves into” when they tied the knot.
“We were just kids when we got married. Young, naive, and inexperienced,” she wrote in a September 2024 Instagram post. “We didn’t always see eye to eye, and a lot of times, we still don’t. But that’s what marriage is, we keep trying.”
Despite facing “struggles” as a couple, Jen revealed Zac has “always supported and believed in me more than anyone else.”

Fans speculated Jen and Zac were facing turmoil in their marriage when they spotted that she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring in an Oct. 9, 2024 TikTok video. Shortly after, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the couple were still together, revealing that Jen doesn’t always wear her wedding ring, and that it does not bother Zac.
Further confusion about the couple’s marital status came when Jen’s Mormon Wives costar Mikayla Matthews shared an Instagram Reel on Oct. 12 that suggested she had split from Zac. Jen lip-synched to an audio, saying, “I don’t even know where we left off,” with Matthews and Neeley responding, “You were still in a relationship.”
The audio responded with Jen mouthing, “I was? Damn,” which left fans confused. However, rumors of Jen and Zac breaking up were squashed when the couple attended an Oct. 22 taping of Dancing with the Stars. She further confirmed they were still together in an Instagram post that included photos of them together at the event.

Although Jen confirmed her involvement in season 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives in February 2025, her costar Jessi Ngatikaura said at the end of season 1 that Jen was thinking about leaving the group.
“Jen told me that she's leaving MomTok because of Zac,” Ngatikaura told fellow group member Demi Engemann. “He doesn't want her associated with us. I am really sad that this is just a continuous pattern that's not getting better.”
